What it is
Our surgeons perform the full range of foot and ankle procedures: bunion and hammertoe correction, flatfoot reconstruction, fracture fixation, tendon repair, joint fusion, total ankle replacement and diabetic limb salvage.
Surgery is a recommendation we make deliberately. Every case begins with weight-bearing imaging, a clear explanation of what the procedure will and will not achieve, and an honest recovery timeline before anything is scheduled.
Symptoms we look for
- Deformity that no longer fits in normal footwear
- Pain persisting despite months of conservative care
- Fractures requiring fixation to heal in position
- Progressive collapse of the arch or hindfoot
How we treat it
- Pre-operative planning with weight-bearing imaging
- Minimally invasive technique where it is appropriate
- Outpatient surgery for most corrective procedures
- Hospital-based surgery for reconstruction and replacement
- Structured post-operative rehabilitation and follow-up
When to see a podiatrist
A surgical consultation is not a commitment to surgery. If you have been managing a foot problem for more than six months without progress, it is reasonable to find out what your options actually are.
Common questions
Will I be put to sleep?
Many foot procedures are done under regional block with sedation rather than general anaesthesia. We will discuss which is right for your case.
How long is recovery?
It ranges from two weeks for a simple soft-tissue procedure to several months for hindfoot reconstruction. You will have a specific timeline before you consent.
