Dr. Blumfield is a Board Certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery .
Dr. Blumfield graduated with a B. S. in Biology from Wilkes University and received his D.P.M. from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia . He completed his Residency Program here in Houston, at the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, where he was the Chief Resident. He has been Chief of Podiatric Surgery at the Houston V.A. and Del Oro Hospital. Currently, he is the Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Memorial Hermann- Memorial City Hospital.
Dr. Blumfield’s professional interests include sports medicine, surgery of the foot and ankle, including bunions and hammertoe deformities. He has a special and personal interest in reconstructive and pediatric surgery of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Blumfield is currently on staff at Texas Children’s, Memorial City, Methodist St. Catherine, First Street, West Houston Surgery Center, Methodist West Hospital and Methodist Willowbrook Hospitals.

Dr. Blumfield is blissfully married to his wife and a loving and devoted father to five children, two bonus children, two grandchildren, and two amazing rescue dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, working out, and going to the Texans games. Dr. Blumfield is passionate about baseball. He has coached all his children’s teams and is an extremely proud fan of the Astros and the Yankees.

Dr. Matuk graduated with an M.D. from Cartagena University, School of Medicine in Colombia, S.A. and he received his Orthopedic Degree in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1993. He received his D.P.M degree from Barry University School of Podiatry in Miami, FL. Dr. Matuk completed his residency in Houston, TX at Kingwood Medical Center, where he was the Chief Resident. Dr. Matuk is the Director of the Podiatry Residency Program at Kingwood Medical Center, TX .
Directing and teaching the Podiatry Residents, along with his formative background, keeps Dr. Matuk on the cutting-edge of all the latest technologies and treatments. His professional interests in Podiatry include sports medicine, arthroscopy, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, flat foot treatments, diabetic foot care, and wound care treatments.

Dr. Matuk and his wife are the proud parents of three wonderful children. Dr. Matuk loves spending time with his family, cooking, traveling, and being a supportive fan of the Houston Dynamo and Texans!
Dr. Akerman completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She then proceeded with a research opportunity at Stanford University before attending Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine where she received her D.P.M. She completed a three year residency program in her hometown Houston at Kingwood Medical Center. Dr. Akerman is Board Eligible in Foot and Ankle Surgery and is an Associate of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Her professional interests include common foot problems such as bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, ingrown toenails, and trauma. She is also interested in treating sports injuries.

Dr. Akerman enjoys spending time with her family and soon to-be husband here in Houston. She has a huge heart for animals and has two loving dogs of her own which she enjoys spending time with. Dr. Schroit also enjoys the outdoors, traveling and has a strong passion for health and fitness.
Dr. Lee completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga with a bachelor of science in Biochemistry. She then went to Barry University for a Masters in Biomedical Science.
There, she found interest in podiatry and attended the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. She completed a 3 year surgical residency program at HCA West Houston Medical Center where she served as chief resident in her final year of training. Dr. Lee is board eligible in foot surgery. Her professional interest include common foot problems such as bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toe nails, and wounds.
